Maria & Yariv Yaffe

Maria Cheryl Wainer was born on 01/21/1964).  She is the daughter of Mildred Wilpon & Arthur Wainer, younger sister of Laurie and Michael, grand-daughter of Lillian and Louis Wilpon.
 

Maria married Yariv Yaffe (born on August 10, 1965) on July 28, 1991. We met working at the Embassy of Israel in Washington, D.C. and had weddings in Florida and Ashkelon, Israel.

We have lovely twin daughters: Lirona Hanita Wainer-Yaffe (named for Louis Wilpon and Hannah Wainer), born June 5, 1998 in Maryland, is a brown-eyed, lefty, brunette who enjoys musicals, playing piano and taking gymnastics.

Sivana Inbal Wainer-Yaffe (named for Steven Kirsner and Bella Yaffe), born June 5, 1998 in Maryland, is a blue-eyed blonde who enjoys using the computer to create artwork and takes a lego building class and jazz dance.

We lived in Indiana, working at Purdue University 2001-2004. We moved to Israel Aug, 2004. We now live in Rehovot, Israel.

The girls are finishing third grade and looking forward to their 9th birthday party. We miss snow and Halloween and our family in the U.S. The girls like sight-seeing, swimming, skating, playing with dolls, crafts, and knowing another language (Hebrew). We enjoy different fruits from our garden (dates, lemon, avocado, banana), our lovely cats, seeing our Israeli family every week, and visits from "Granny and Pa".
